A lot of people do their tax returns early, some are scrambling to finish them today. Either way, it’s April 30, when we look over the financial successes and failures of the past year, and award the government money to run the country …


THE TAX RETURN                       

analyze the summation
of accounts reckoned
by finger or abacus

balance calculation
ruled into statistics
of audit notated

multiply mortgages                                                    Copy of
add debt with interest
subtracted from income

enumerate all monthly
invoices before division
reduces proportion

daily reckoning computed
after taking stock
for annual taxation
