It was a truly wonderful wedding day: family, close friends, joy and delight all round. So happy for them. And, because they’re marathoners, tri-athletes, here’s for them …

JOYOUS DAY

stride down the skies
in quick-march-time

slide across lakes churned
to slip-slappy waves

run into bike-shops
to roll spare-tires

down Main Street
with friends cheering

and bands blaring
this personal victory parade

as you cross the start line
of your life-long marathon
