Time to Spare

I plan time carefully before appointments, always wanting to
arrive  early. Sometimes things go totally awry. Does this happen
to you? …

TIME TO SPARE

a ten-minute drive
across town
with forty minutes                                         23445644.maps 6.23.12
to my appointment

but – road closed
and the flagger says
‘go round the other end’

found the other end
… closed too

out with map
make finger tracks
around road works
to find the long cut

… turn left
meander up hill
down around curves

make a wrong turn
backtrack and arrive
at destination
… two minutes
to spare
