A Clean Slate

Happy New Year! We’ve turned the corner, turned over a new leaf, feel brand new with resolutions made (I don’t make them), a sense of looking forward to new adventures, challenges …

A CLEAN SLATE

laundered   starched
ironed  and folded
not a crease or stain
to be seen
just brand new skin
outlook and year

the next days  months
will give their share
of wrinkles  scars
and everyday grime
without my having
to worry or work
at acquiring
any of them
