Back In Time

Our local museum is a place of wonders, all kinds of antiques, photos,
jewellery, costumes, well organized and attractive. Well worth a visit …

for a modest fee
you can wander into
our local museum

hold an antique brooch
in your hand  or hear
the old piano played

by a ghostly pianist
who releases tunes
that linger in the air

worn hammers
with moth-eaten felts
hit the strings

unevenly and yet
my heart sings
with the old music

and my feet itch
to step lightly in
an old-fashioned waltz

9781771333054_FC‘A Bedroom of Searchlights’: poetry. This collection draws a picture of the poet’s divorced mother, an artist with two children, who struggled with poverty, war, and the realities of daily life, yet still found beauty and comfort in her garden, and her art.
