This has been a ‘people’ week, trying to reach friends by phone or email,
to stay in touch, spend time with family and friends  …

I’ve been tying shoelaces
together all week
in and out of the house
on the phone
trying to connect
to so many people
in endless attempts
at true relationships

one day I will pull
the end of a lace
unravel all the knots
and find myself alone
in a room full of shoes
