a rich quiet

Good Friday coming up, with reminder of pain and grief when we have enough going on around. And, even with self-isolation and social distancing, there’s a need to be quiet and contemplate, at least for me, before the Easter eggs and rabbits run wild on Sunday …

A RICH QUIET

the singing bowl
rings its message
of enclosed silence

stills restless feet
opens hands to pray
closes fretful eyes

the ringing fades
into the plenitude
of meditation

lets the Spirit
speak holy words
in the quiet
