There are some days when I wonder what’s going on. It may be the heat
or the orneryness of life, things go missing (my garden trowel), things
get found in odd places (a ring on the driveway) …
QUESTIONS
this the total
for the day the week
one pot of soup
four bread crumbs
five burnt cookies
one broken cup
and a dead chicken
on the doorstep
who did what?
the cook? a mouse?
a fox? the cat?
or did I turn too quickly
and the house crumble
around me?
